About this trial

Supporting independence in older people for longer

Alzheimer's disease is the most common neurodegenerative disorder, affecting nearly half a million Australians. It causes progressive memory loss, cognitive decline, and behavioural changes, eventually leading to a complete loss of independence. For families and carers, watching a loved one navigate this condition can be both emotionally and practically demanding.

While current treatments may offer only short-term relief, this trial is evaluating an investigational twice-daily oral capsule for its potential to support symptom management and slow cognitive decline over time, helping people with Alzheimer's maintain independence for longer.
The study treatment lasts 24 weeks, followed by a 4-week follow-up period, for a total of 28 weeks. All participants will take a capsule twice daily. There is a 50% chance of receiving either the investigational treatment or a placebo.
