About this trial

Understanding our heart and artery health research

Atherosclerosis is a chronic condition where plaque gradually builds up inside the arteries, causing them to harden and narrow over time. This can lead to serious complications, including heart attack and stroke, particularly in older adults or those with existing cardiovascular risk factors.

One of the key genetic drivers of atherosclerosis is elevated Lipoprotein(a), commonly known as Lp(a). This cholesterol-like particle contributes to plaque formation and, unlike other cardiovascular risk factors, cannot be reduced through diet, exercise, or standard cholesterol medications. Many people are unaware they have high Lp(a) levels, making targeted research into new treatments especially important.

This clinical trial is evaluating an investigational treatment designed to support heart and artery health in eligible adults at cardiovascular risk.
You don't need to know your Lp(a) levels to apply. Participants will undergo screening as part of the trial process. This makes it accessible to anyone aged 50 or older with cardiovascular risk factors, even if they've never had their Lp(a) tested before.
